New to voting in Oregon? Register by October 13 to vote in this election. Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time; mailed registration cards must be postmarked by October 13. Already registered? Check your address and ballot status in My Vote.

Jackson County currently schedules local ballot mailing for October 14. This is a mailing date, not an arrival date, and the county notes its schedule may change. Watch your mailbox and check the county’s official updates.

Recommended mail-by date · not a legal deadline

Plan to mail your signed ballot at least one week before Election Day. After October 27, use an official ballot drop box, or request a manual postmark at a USPS office if mailing close to Election Day.

Return your signed ballot to an official drop box by 8 p.m. on November 3. If returning it by mail, it must have a valid postmark on or before November 3 and reach the elections office by November 10. Request a manual postmark if mailing close to Election Day.

Two ways to return your ballot

Voters have two choices when returning ballots:

  1. Official Ballot Drop Site: Vote as soon as you’d like once ballots arrive, then return your signed ballot directly to any 24-hour official ballot drop box in Oregon. Find official ballot drop boxes in Jackson County. Ballots must be dropped off before 8 p.m. Pacific Time on Election Night, November 3.
  2. By mail: Return your signed ballot by mail using the provided return envelope—no stamp needed! Mail your ballot by Tuesday, October 27, to allow time for delivery.

October 27 is a recommended mail-by date, not a legal deadline. After that date, use an official drop box or request a manual USPS postmark. Read Oregon’s ballot-return guidance (PDF).
